So, for we that are new to git what is the correct way of pointing to the new repository?
I've tried git pull git.gnome.org/cgit/gnote master but on my .git/config the remote origin url still points to git.gitorious.org/gnote/m...

@mmk: see above for the checkout URL. You have to edit .git/config to change it. You can also pass it to git pull.

Well, I really used http cause I'm behind a firewall with no access other than that. Anyway, I edited .git/config by hand.
