Unfortunately I was waiting to buy a iBook where I could have linux and os x, but it seems apple is keen on not allowing their customers to choose what they want to do on their own hardware. (And I don't want a ppc one, it's too pricey for what it includes, at least where I live, we have the lamest apple store of all europe).

It is more manufacturers of video card and wifi chipset that are to blame. PowerBook have similar issues as well, and PC laptop too. Apple in that case just do not care.

Why anyone would get suckered into buying DRM-infested, proprietary operating systems like Mac OS X or M$ Windows is beyond me.

Why would I buy a Mac if I wanted to run Linux? The Mac runs a FreeBSD derivate that is in many ways better than a Linux kernel, I get a great gui and there is also fink if I miss a few cli commands or other gadgets.

If I want a cool machine to run Linux on, there are more better options. :)
