Digital photography with free software
By hub, Friday 25 May 2007 at 19:47 :: Photo
Linux.com has recently published several articles about digitial photography with Linux.
- Rawstudio: A fast and light RAW photo converter. I let you discover it by yourself.
- Tone-mapping HDR photos with Qtpfsgui. HDR is one of these new techinque that give incredible results. It is way easier on digital than with traditionnal printing in B&W... (that's what masking in the darkroom helped achieve)
- Hugin developer launches photographic distortion correction database. The lens database is an important aspect of the image processing workflow. Even more for panaroma stitching.
- XMP making inroads in open source imaging software. It is all about picture metadata (and more). One of my current obsessions, part of the DAM[1] workflow
