This was long overdue. The CSS stylesheet was a bit broken for a few years, I modernized it a bit. For a better visual experience, you need webfont support in your browser, but I believe it will degrade quite well.
Not sure yet if it is a good idea to rely on Google for the fonts. This is an experiment.

- Filed bug bgo#566962 with patch: g-s-m memory leakage, while looking for a different bug.
- Yet another snow storm going on. The good thing this year: I don't have to shovel.

Gimp 2.4 has been released . And now this piece of Free Software as a website that is as annoying as various non-free software by requiring to install a piece of non-free software to view content.

Welcome Gimp to the land of the non-Free hype. See for yourself.
Update: as Alan commented, bug 489958 has been filed.

I was in Barcelona at OOoCon 2007 when the hard drive of my server died (the last Maxtor I had, go figure). I now have reconstructed a new one based in the backup that was around 24h old.
If you tried to email me, you may want to resend.
My apologies for anybody who got error messages an such (hello planet admins !)

I just released exempi 1.99.2 so that my patches for EOG and Nautilus can be applied and built.
Get it .tar.gz - GPG sig
Changes:
- better exception handling in the C++ glue code
- new API
xmp_get_property_and_bits()
and the macros to manipulate the option bits
- new API
xmp_set_property2()
, xmp_set_array_item()
and xmp_get_error()
- new API
xmp_copy()
Some of the new API may look ugly, but that's my fault, and I don't want to break the ABI now. I will by the final release.

Fun mail I received, that Thunderbird didn't even really detect as spam[1]:
Dear user of figuiere.net,
That would be me.
We have detected that your account has been used to send a huge amount of junk e-mail during the recent week.
Most likely your computer had been infected and now runs a trojaned proxy server.
I thought it was your computer that was infected Mr. 86.203.244.53, since you just sent me that.
Please follow the instructions in the attached text file in order to keep your computer safe.
No thanks. A .zip file that contain a .zip file that contain a .scr is already highly suspicious :-)
Sincerely yours,
The figuiere.net team.
That would be me as well? Riiighhht.
Sorry for the noise.

Finaly back online. Here is a summary.
My week-end started Thursday to go and sign for the new house. Then it was moving all the crap from the old house to the new house. Friday became interesting as I did unplug the ADSL, I had a van, and I must admit I wouldn't have been able to do it in time without the fabulous help from Pat who stayed from 7:30PM to 2:00AM. Thanks a log Pat for the help !
Saturday 11:00AM, I return the van and just enough time to go to the airport to leave for Mainz, Germany to attend the Desktop Architect Meeting II. Nothing special about the trip, except that I met a guy who was using Ubuntu on his laptop in the Toronto Airport terminal (hey Tim !).
I came back to the land of canuck Wednesday, and I had to reconnect everything to be back online, from the router to the noisy server: unfortunately I'll have to run cat5 cable to the basement. More about that later, including pictures.

This evening the whole house vibrated. I thought it was a huge truck driving crazy. But no, it was an earthquake.
