when people on internet were saying canon would never name the successor of the 20d the 30d because of the confusion with the d30, i was smiling. i was sure that was going to happen.

i bought an excellent powershot a80. then there was the a85 which was the model replacing the a70 so less good than the a80, despite the name.
then the a95 which was the real replacement for the a80.

Well, RGB Histogram & such are firmware upgrades. I currently own a 10D and am considering upgrading to the 20D right now simply because the 20D prices are dropping due to 30D's introduction. However, the salient feature of the 30D for me would be the 2% Spotmeter, which is a new item in the 2nd-tier Canon DSLR range (10/20/30D).

Excellent blog! I read via pgo however I, too, am frustrated by raw support.

By the way, if you are into shooting raw then I have a great recommendation for you: whibal. If you don't already have one it's the best $40 I've ever spent. Perfect white balance every time, easy to use, small. It really makes the annoying part of digital photography (acheiving "good" white balance) much easier.

Yeah, this is definitely a 20D Mark II! I can't believe, that Canon calls this 30D. And some of the new features could really be a firmware upgrade (I'd like to have the ISO display in the view finder ;). But I'm pleased nevertheless, because as they seem to be using the same sensor as for the 20D, it shows, that my 20D is still "state of the art" and I'm not tempted to upgrade... ;-)

Bonjour,

Je post ici une remarque concernant le fil Gnomefr :

Serait-il possible de ne publier que les posts relatifs à l'informatique en général sur Planète Gnome fr ?
Je pense que peu de personnes abonnées à ce fil sont intéressées par le temps qu'il fait, les achats de matériel divers, les micro tremblements de terre, etc.
